How to Measure AI Search Visibility
A practical measurement model for AI referrals, observed citations, brand mentions, assisted journeys and qualified outcomes.
Measure several layers
- AI referral sessions where identifiable
- Brand mentions and citations observed in a defined prompt set
- Landing pages receiving AI-originated traffic
- Assisted conversions and qualified inquiries
- Changes in branded search and direct demand
- Downstream opportunities and collected revenue when attribution is available
Use a repeatable prompt set
Visibility observations become more useful when the same commercially relevant prompts are tested on a consistent schedule and the date, platform, prompt and observed sources are recorded. Treat this as observational research, not a universal ranking score.
Do not confuse visibility with incrementality
A citation or AI referral can be useful evidence of discovery, but it does not by itself prove that GEO created incremental revenue. Reconcile AI-originated journeys with analytics, CRM outcomes and verified customer data.
GEO Is an Evidence and Measurement Discipline.
1st Position Ranking does not promise citations or placement in AI systems. We improve source quality, entity clarity, answer structure, authority and measurement, then observe what actually changes across discovery and downstream qualified demand.

Use the Growth Audit to identify whether the real constraint is entity clarity, content quality, authority, technical SEO, measurement or conversion.
